India sees incredibly hot weather for a large portion of the year, with about 300 clear and sunny days in total. This adds up to about 5000 trillion kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, which exceeds the energy output potential of all the fossil fuel energy reserves in the entire country.

So, solar power is an incredibly valuable resource! It becomes even more valuable when you consider the inaccessibility of other power sources for people in underserved communities, and the lack of access to electricity in so many rural and informal communities in India. Solar power, therefore, has the potential to be a resource for the people – changing lives for the better while saving the planet too.

However, usage of solar energy is still low in India. It is often viewed as expensive, difficult to install or simply too complicated to arrange. That’s where H2Glo comes in! Our mission is to bring solar power to the people by engaging community members in the energy process and educating children from a very young age about the benefits of harnessing natural resources, while also encouraging engagement with science and technology.
